Abma, Frederik Johan – Peacefully with his loving family by his side at St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia-Lambton in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Joyce (Marshall) for 59 years. Loving father of Joanne Wilson & Dave Carney, and the late Paul Abma (2018). Cherished grandfather of Meagan Wilson, Matthew Wilson and Jordan Sweet. Sadly missed brother of John (Grace) Abma, Dianne (George) Hibrant, Cathy (Bob) Neal, Verna Abma, Liz (Allan) Steinfield, and brother-in-law of May Abma. Predeceased by parents Andy & Anna Abma and brother Hans Abma.
Joyce and family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at St. Joesph’s Hospice of Sarnia-Lambton for their countless hours, dedication, kindness, care and compassion, you helped make this last memory of Fred one of dignity and grace. We also thank everyone who has made a visit or condolence through this time of grieving as we cherish all the kindness and support we received.
As per Fred’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Fred will be held at Central United Church, 220 George Street in Sarnia at 1:00pm on Saturday May 11, 2019 with Rev. Dr. Don Lockett officiating.
