Obituary of Frances Goodwin
After a long battle with cancer, Frances passed away peacefully with her family at her side on September 15, 2019. She is survived by her children, Paul, Tim, Vicky, Maryann, and Becky (husband Tom), and her grandchildren Amy, Beth, Joey, Peter, Elianah, Justin, and Ryan. She was predeceased by Joseph, her husband of 42 years.
Frances was a great cook, an avid reader, gardener and painter, and was always willing to take on new adventures, such as the Edgewalk at the CN Tower when she was 85 years old.
The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses and support staff at The Stronach Regional Cancer Centre for their exceptional, compassionate care for Frances throughout her battle. Also gratitude for the staff and volunteers of the Margaret Bahen Hospice where Mom’s final hours were managed with empathy and humanity.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 10 – 11 a.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation in Frances’ name to The Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation and please direct your donation to The Regional Cancer Centre.
