Obituary of Carol Martha Shantz
Went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the age of 72. Carol was the beloved wife of Daniel Shantz of Elmira.
Loved mother of Jeffery Shantz of Elmira and mother-in-law of Darlene Shantz. Dear sister of Orvie Bowman of Stratford, Leonard and Joy Bowman of Stratford, Saloma Merritt of Hanover, Edna and Fred Vandenburg of Waterloo, and Grace Bowman of Waterloo. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Levi and Hannah (Martin) Bowman, sisters and their husbands Priscilla and Alfred Knechtel and Salinda and Amos Martin, two brothers in infancy, sister-in-law Eleanor Bowman, and brothers-in-law Robert Brown and Lloyd Merritt.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Elmira Union Cemetery followed by a reception at the funeral home.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Elmira Pentecostal Assembly or Barnswallow Place Resident Council would be appreciated.
