Peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Selkirk General Hospital, Selkirk, MB., Ben went home to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 91 years.
Left to celebrate his memory are daughters: Sandra, Charlotte (Wayne); grandchildren: David (Karen), Andrea (Ryan), Ardelle (Chad), Sharon (Matt), Denise (Monty), Deanna, Cheryl (Barry), Graham (Mel), Jeremy (Becky); 15 great-grandchildren, brothers Abe and Jake, sister Sara and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his wife Muriel Minor.
Ben was predeceased by his wife Jessie of 57 years, son Daniel and granddaughter Kristen.
Ben was born in Steinbach, MB., grew up in North Kildonan and married Jessie on December 27, 1947. He was a Winnipeg Firefighter for 31 years. He played harmonica in numerous musical groups. Ben had a generous spirit and gift of recall.
Our family expresses a sincere thank you to all those in the Selkirk Hospital who provided care for Ben and also for your prayers during this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba or to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church at Pine Ridge, at the corner of Garven Road and Hwy 207.
Interment to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, Springfield, MB.
