Obituary of Barbara Irene Aldridge
ALDRIDGE- Barbara Irene (nee Held) of Port Colborne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Welland County General Hospital in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles Aldridge, loving mother of Patricia (the late Donald) Berg, dear grandmother of DiAnne (Walter) Clapp and James (Jayne) Berg, great grandmother of Juvaleen (Jason) Whiteford, Tabeah Clapp, Chelsea (Martin) Misener, Joshua (Elisa) Berg, Jordan Berg and Kelly(Miranda) Berg, great great grandmother of Hailey and Alexis Whiteford, Jaxson and Scott Misener, sister of Mabel Robins. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Blanche and Elson Held, her brothers Melbourne Held and Robert Held. Barbara was an accomplished pianist and organist and played for churches in Windsor, Hamilton and St. Catharines. She was a member of Central United Church and volunteered at Northland Pointe and Portal Village. The Aldridge family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 9:30 until the time of the funeral service in the Davidson Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marty Misener officiating. Cremation will follow with interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the CNIB.
