Audrey’s Obituary
Buckler, Audrey Lillian (Frost) ~ age 86 of Middleton, passed away peacefully at Grand View Manor Nursing Home, Berwick, on August 6, 2018 with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Melford and Alma (Lewis) Haight, of Barton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mum was Night Charge Nurse for many years at Mountain Lee Lodge, later Master Hairdresser in her daughter’s hair salon and was Shop Inspector for Annapolis and Digby Counties. Mum was a great cook & never used a recipe! Although, her favourite pass time was reading cook books. She sewed and knit without a pattern! Everyone was welcomed to our home for a meal or to spend the night. Audrey is survived by daughters, Sheila Haynes (Robert), Middleton and Shelley Reycraft, Middleton; grandsons, Justin Haynes (Maya Ranvig), Halifax; Christopher Reycraft (Zoshia Fraser), Moncton NB; step-grandson, Tony (Jolie) Wright, Alberta; godson, Roger Haynes, Falmouth; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Haight, Digby; Ella Tidd, Paradise; Ruth Manuel, West Dalhousie; Lillian Acker, Ontario; Hazel Joudrey, Kingston; brother-in-law: Roscoe (Maureen) Buckler, Kingston; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Audrey was pre-deceased by her first husband of 5 years, Delmar Frost; second husband of 51 years,Norman Buckler; sisters, Ethel (Durling) Haight and Iris Hardwick in infancy; brothers, Ray, Earl, Ellery and David Haight; in-laws, William and Sarah (Morehouse) Frost; Clifford & Lillian (Robar) Buckler. Special thanks to the staff of Grand View Manor for the excellent care given to Mum for over eleven years. Cremation has taken place; no visitation by her request. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2 pm at Middleton Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating. Reception for family & friends will follow the service. Family flowers only. Donations in Audrey’s memory may be made to The Alzheimer Society Research Program, or Middleton Baptist Church.
