RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – André W.
Babineau, 88, of Richibouctou-Village, NB passed away peacefully at
the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Center on Friday,
September 13, 2019. Born in Richibouctou-Village, he was the
son of the late William Babineau and late Lina (Babineau)
Babineau. Before retiring, André was a
fisherman.
André will be sadly missed by his common law wife
of 18 years, Ella Bastarache of Richibouctou-Village; one daughter,
Odette Cormier (Eloi) of Richibouctou-Village; three sons, Raymond
Babineau (Claudette) of Richibouctou-Village, Guy Babineau (late
Gisele) of Richibouctou-Village, Edgar Babineau (Denise) of
Fredericton; ten grandchildren and many great
grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, Germaine Downey (late
Norman), Rita Boucher (Alcide) both of Richibouctou-Village and many
nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Odila
(Richard) Babineau; one son, Alvin; three sisters, Rosée,
Marie, Sophie; two brothers, Albert, Emile and four half brothers,
Gerard, Jean-Baptiste, Alyre and Jerome.
Visitation will be held at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman
Catholic Church Slumber Room in Richibouctou-Village on Monday from
2-4 & 7-9 pm, Tuesday at 2:00 pm until time of the
funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday,
September 17, 2019 at 4:30 pm, St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic
Church, Richibouctou-Village. Donations in
André’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society and would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements
are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto
(523-4252).
