Aleksander (Aleks) Geiger, age 65, of Stratford and formerly of London, passed away at his residence on Monday, September 16, 2019. Born in Slovenia, Yugoslavia, son of the late Aleksander Geiger and Ana Ferlin. Aleks is survived by his stepmother Stojanka Geiger (Zeljkovic), and his daughter Kathy and her children Cody and Nicholas, great granddaughters Allayna Geiger, and Athena Geiger. Much loved brother to the late Dusan Geiger, Suzanne Buck (Geiger), and Sandra Geiger. Aleks will be fondly remembered by his nephews Zoran and Gabriel Buck, and Jordan Geiger. Aleks came to Canada in 1970; he lived and worked in London for a number of years before relocating to Stratford. He was employed by Crouse Hinde, Universal Engineering, Dresden Industries, and most recently retired from Caledon Tubing. Aleks was a quiet, laid back man. He enjoyed a cold beer, NASCAR, fishing, and loved music. Family and friends may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford for a visitation on Thursday September 26, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. The family will have a private family interment on Friday, September 27, 2019, followed by a Celebration of Aleks’ Life, where all are invited to join the family from 2-5 p.m. at the Army Navy Air Force Hall Unit 261, 151 Lorne Ave, Stratford.
