Patrick Joseph Cogan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pat Cogan on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the age of 67 years, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in North Sydney, Cape Breton on September 25, 1951 he was the son of the late Ted and Anne (Egan) Cogan.
Dearly loved husband of Sharon (McDonald) for 33 years living in London, Ontario. Proud and supportive father to Ted Cogan of Guelph, Michael Cogan and his wife Stephanie of Nova Scotia and Andrea Cogan of Nova Scotia. Loving grandfather to seven grandchildren.
Dear brother of Connie Kendziora (Guy) of Nova Scotia, Erin Cogan (Bev) of Nova Scotia, Kieran Cogan (Tink) of New Brunswick, and dear brother-in-law of Karen Cogan of Nova Scotia. Pat was predeceased by his brother Ken Cogan (2019).
Pat is also survived by his brothers-in law Rick McDonald (Liz) of London, Ron McDonald (Brenda) of St. Mary’s and his sister-in-law Shellie McDonald (Kevin Gregg) of Guelph. He was a wonderful and much loved uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Pat will be missed by his many lifelong friends and was blessed with their visits from near and far throughout his illness.
Visitation will be held at OSTRANDER’S FUNERAL HOME, 43 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg, Ontario, N4G 3T6, (519) 842-5221, on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., beginning with parish prayers. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 51 Venison St. W. Tillsonburg on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation and a private family internment will be held at Tillsonburg Cemetery at a later date.
