It is with great sadness that the family of Clarence James Schwartz, 82, of Curran Ontario and formerly of Lunenburg, announces his passing on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Hawkesbury General Hospital, Hawkesbury, Ontario.
Born in Lunenburg, Clarence was the son of the late Donald James and Marjorie Louise (Corkum) Schwartz.
Clarence worked as an iron molder for most of his life, having worked at Hillis and Son in Halifax, I.M.P. in Dartmouth and later for many years at the Lunenburg Foundry.
Clarence was a faithful member at Faith Baptist Chapel, Centre where he was a janitor for many years.
In 2012 he moved to Curran, Ontario to live with his Goddaughter Sherrie and family. He kept busy making colourful hammocks, latch hook rug creations some of which he even designed. His most favorite thing was his “quality time” grocery shopping with Sherrie and loved searching the flyer for all the “good deals”. Clarence was an active member of the Randell Family and spoiled them by happily making meals even into his final days.
Survived by his favorite Goddaughter, Sherrie Randell, Godson-in-law, Byron Randell, and Great godsons, Caleb, Jacob and Ethan. Close Family George (Anita) Clorey, John Clorey, and Special Cousin John (Rita) Schwartz. He will be fondly remembered by everyone he met, as he leaves behind lasting memories.
He was predeceased by his parents, Aunt Genevie Walker and dearest friend Dorine Fougere.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. Funeral services to celebrate Clarence’s life will be held on Thursday June 27th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Chapel, Centre, Pastor Jeff George, officiating. Family will be available to accept condolences starting at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Baptist Chapel or any charity of your choosing.
