Obituary of Carrie Mae Prosser
With heavy hearts, our family wishes to announce the passing of our dear Mother at the age of 102 at Circle Drive Special Care Home. Born in Asquith to Charles and Mary (Mae) Trask, Carrie grew up in Asquith, Springwater, and Saskatoon. At age 14 she moved with her parents and siblings to Lonsdale (Saskatoon Settlement), attending Lonsdale School. She met her husband, John Burton (Bert) Prosser, at age 17; they were married 3 years later. Carrie and Bert moved to Deer Creek in 1938, Loon Lake in 1941, Elrose in 1955, and Saskatoon in 1963. Carrie and Bert retired to Kyle, Saskatchewan in 1976. They spent 20 winters in Mesa, Arizona until Bert’s passing in October of 1998. In 2011 Carrie moved to The Franklin seniors hi-rise in Saskatoon. She subsequently moved to Luthercare Village in February 2017 and Circle Drive Special Care Home in the Spring of 2018. Carrie was predeceased by her husband Bert, her parents, siblings (Verna, Marie, Charlie and Ron), great-grandchild Shaun Miller, great-great-grandchild Noel Miller, and son-in-law Don Moore. Left to celebrate Carrie’s life are son John (Marlene), daughter Lois (Carl Anderson), son Norman (Debbie), son Bob (Chris), daughter Mary (Archie Lilburn), daughter Mavis (Jack Gelowitz), and over 80 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Mom will be lovingly remembered for her wonderful cooking, knitting, and craft skills and, above all else, her unconditional love for and commitment to her husband and family. The family is grateful for the wonderful care and support she received from staff at Luthercare Village and Circle Drive Special Care Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at 2:00 pm on September 3rd.
