GROVER, Bertha
Charlotte Age
101, formerly of Torbay, Guysborough County passed away Monday, August
19, 2019 in Canso Seaside Manor. Born in Torbay, Guysborough County,
she was a daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Williams) Webber.
Bertha was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Torbay. She was a
homemaker, loved to garden, knit and always enjoyed having company and
making sure no one left without having a meal. Bertha is survived by
daughters, Muriel Doiron, Torbay; Carol Sponagle, Coddles Harbour and
Torbay; Donna (Mark) McLaughlin, Middle Sackville; grandchildren,
Sandra (Larry) Blackmore, Rhonda (Randy) Childs, Leland (Marilyn)
Kirby, Roger (Kelli) Sponagle, Kevin (Erin) Sponagle, Darrell
(Lorraine) Doiron; 14 great grandchildren; 17 great
great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and their families. She
was predeceased by her husband, Stirling; brothers, Cecil, Lewis, and
Burton; sons-in-law, Leland Kirby Sr, Emmie Doiron, and Clinton
Sponagle. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. in Church of
the Good Shepherd, Torbay, from where funeral service will be held
Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Susan Slater officiating. Interment to
follow in Church of the Good Shepherd Cemetery. Family flowers only
please. Memorial donations may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd
Cemetery Fund, Canso Seaside Manor or to a charity of your choice.
