La célébration de
Alma Kathleen «Kay» Mangolt (nee Gillett)
9 août 1929 –
18 août 2019
Passed away in the early morning hours nine days after her ninetieth birthday on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Kay was born in Aylmer, Ontario and was a devoted and loving wife to George Mangolt and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Kay is survived by her husband, George, and children, James “Randy” Mangolt (Deb) and Cheryl Preston, five grandchildren—James “Jamie” Mangolt (Amanda), Kate Hodge (Ryan), Heather Pittman (Brent), Brian Preston (Aislinn), Greg Preston (Kelsey) and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son Paul Gregory, parents Ethel and James “Arthur” Gillett, sister Helen Tutt and brother Reginald Gillett.
Kay’s quiet inner strength, courage and sense of humour were admired by all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed the many trips she and George took through their retirement years together—Spain, France, England, Italy and a riverboat cruise on the Danube River in Europe as well as various trips across the U.S. and Canada. Kay enjoyed celebrating family birthdays, holidays and time spent with the family at the cottage on Georgian Bay, barbequing, sipping wine and watching the sunsets. She also enjoyed the numerous family pets, in particular a Siberian Husky named Samson, who always managed to put a smile on her face.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Trillium Health Partners Foundation or The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
