Sophie Donaldson nee Piatkowsky
Poland, January 11,1927 – Toronto, July 20,2019
Sophie Donaldson (nee Piatkowsky) passed away peacefully at the Scarborough General Hospital at the age of 92. Widow of Jonn Donaldson and dear sister to the late Teddy Piatokwsky, Sophie was the beloved mother to Robbie Thistle and her late son-in law Lloyd. She will be greatly missed by her granddaughters Jessica Thistle and her partner Angie Snowie and Maggie Thistle and her partner Brendan Roozen and her great granddaughter, Mia Roozen-Thistle
Sophie touched the lives of many and will be lovingly remembered for her striking sense humor, endless generosity and admirable tenacity and wisdom. We will miss you, Nana.
A special thank you to the palliative care unit at Scarborough General Hospital for their dedication and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory to Sophie to the Ontario SPCA (Ontario SPCA – Ontario SPCA and Humane Society), or to Kidney Cancer Canada (Kidney Cancer Canada | What is Kidney Cancer | Cancer of the Kidney) would be kindly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Aftercare Cremation and Burial Service.
A family service will be held on Thursday, August 1st, at 12 pm at Highland Memory Gardens (Don Mills Rd. South of Steeles Ave) followed by a public Celebration of Life at Willie Stouts (Consumers Rd and Sheppard Ave) from 2 pm to 4 pm.
