GILES, Robert Arnold «Bob» 1930 – 2019
Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in his 90th year.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Helen (2014). Loving father of Terry (Eileen), Rob (Juanita), Randy, Bonnie, Wendy Mckee (Doug) and Chris (Shannon). Cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Dear brother of Mary White and Leo Giles.
Bob took over his father’s business – Giles Electric in 1969 and continued working till he retired in 1993 but enjoyed doing electrical jobs for friends until 2017. He proudly served as a fire fighter at Fire Station 1 in Fonthill from 1947 to 1997. Bob was a kind and caring man and will be forever missed by all his family and friends.
Visitors will be received at the PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Tuesday, July 23rd from 7-9 pm with the Fonthill fireman’s walk through taking place at 7:00 pm. The funeral service to honour Bob’s life will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 24th beginning 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Fonthill Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
