Obituary of Mary Gerbig
Mary Elizabeth Gerbig (Brenton) March 31,1950 – July 21, 2019.
After a courageous battle with Cancer it is with a very heavy heart, that we announce the peaceful passing of our amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and best friend.
Mary Elizabeth Gerbig ( Brenton) was born on March 31, 1950. She touched the lives of every person that knew her and had a heart of gold. Mary loved her family dearly; spending time with her loved ones over a cup of tea brought her the greatest joy. Music held a very special place in her heart as she was most often singing along to every tune (even if she didn’t know all the words).
Predeceased by her parents Alice and Albert Brenton, step-father Michael Coady, brothers-in-law Tony Hickey, John Foley and Kim Lawton.
She leaves to mourn her beloved husband John, her daughters Joanne Chu (Tobin), Paula Healey (Terry), Renee Rowsell (Manuel), Robyn King (Kenny), their father Adrian Smith, and stepson Gregory Gerbig (Michelle). She will be greatly missed by her six grandchildren Evan Chu, Alex Chu (Joanne), Jonah Rowsell, Ayden Rowsell (Renee), Lily Healey (Paula), Zander King (Robyn) and 2 step-grandchildren Kailey Gerbig, Nathan Gerbig (Greg).
Also leaving to mourn with precious memories, are her brothers and sisters Eric (Frances), Gordon (Sylvia), Beatrice (George), Harvey (Ruth), Ernie (Carmel), Ethel (David), Albert (Donna), Marjorie, Ruby (Mike), Judy (Rick), Melvin (Sandra), Bobby, Lorraine (Lloyd) and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the medical professionals who cared for our mother and wife – Dr. Patricia Power, Dr. Erica Chafe, and nurses Tina Edwards, Kimberly Buckle and Sandra White as well as the palliative care staff from the Miller Center.
Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00. Funeral Service to take place at Coombs Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at a time to be given later. Interment to follow at Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast.
