Morrison, Dorothy – Arichat/Little Anse
It is with grieving hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Morrison that occurred at her residence in St. Anne Centre in Arichat on July 13, 2019 at the age of 87. Born in Little Anse on June 15, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Freddie and Josephine (Boudreau) Samson.
Mom was loved by her daughters and all of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to gather as a family and was often seen with a big smile on her face when she was surrounded by family members. She loved to play cards and you could always be sure that she would never let you win. She also loved to play bingo and would make sure that she was there in plenty of time to get her seat. She was also an avid church goer.
Dorothy’s family is very appreciative of all of the staff at St. Anne Center that helped and did all they could for Dorothy during her stay at St. Anne Center, but especially during the last few difficult days.
Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughters Judith Bonin (Amable), Arichat, Carolyn Benoit (Armand), Petit de Grat and Doreen Boudreau (Albert), Arichat; grandchildren Connie Pierce and Thomas Bonin, Craig, Warren and Lenny Benoit, Melissa and Chris Boudreau, Jenna MacQueen and Billy Dickie; great grandchildren Devin, Brett, Megan, Hillary, Karly, Zachary, Caleigh and Edward; brother Rudolph Samson (Virginia), Louisdale; sister Betty Tandy, Dartmouth. She will also be sadly missed by all of her nieces and nephews and other family members that were so special to her.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Thomas Angus; daughter Patsy Dickie; brothers William, Henry, Lawrence, Ozzie, and George Samson; sisters Lena Weissent, Lorraine Forster, Alma Boudreau and Bernadette Clannon; son-in-law Bill Dickie.
Visitation will be held Thursday July 18, 2019 in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Arichat from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Friday morning at 11am in St. Joseph’s Church in Petit de Grat with Father Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit de Grat. A reception will be held following the committal at St. Joseph’s Hall in Petit de Grat. Memorial donations made be made to St. Ann Centre Activity Fund. So very sorry to hear of Aunt Dot’s passing. Sorry that we will just miss seeing her as I will be there in a few days. Love to all of you from my mom, Denice, and all of the family. She will be reunited with the many lovely siblings and family members who passed before her. xoxo
