TURCOTTE, John – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Wednesday July 17, 2019 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 58 years to Sheila Turcotte (nee Donohue). Dearly loved father of Christopher John (Debbie) Turcotte and Lisa Mary Turcotte-Gauld. Cherished grandpa of Christopher G. (Iris) Turcotte, Amanda (Cameron) Saylor, Nicholas and Lucas Gauld and great-grandfather of Chase, Carter and Cole Turcotte and Oaklyn Bishop. Dear brother of Maurice Turcotte, Fleurette Pare, Normande Pouliot, Pauline Frigault and Lorraine Bureau. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Marie Pouliot and his brothers Lucien, Lionel, Benoit, Gilles, Gabriel and Real Turcotte. Dear brother-in-law of Brenda and Mary Turcotte and Sharon Gazley. John started working for Benjamin Tent & Awning at the age of 15. In 1980, he bought Cataract Canvas and together with his wife Sheila he ran the company until his retirement in 1995. He was a proud volunteer of the Winter Festival of Lights and was known as the «King of Duff». He was also a member of the colour guard of the Niagara Memorial Militaries Alumni Drum Corps and a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 479. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 am at St. Thomas More Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
