NEWPORT, James McDonald
Passed away peacefully at Juravinski
Hospital on July 11, 2019 at the age
of 69 years. James was the loving
husband of Beth, devoted father to
Scott (Yulena), stepfather to Allyson
(Mike), D’Arcy (Venetia) and proud
Papa to Victoria and Dawson. He is
also survived by former spouse Marie.
Jim always maintained a positive
attitude, sense of humour, and
loving spirit. He was employed at
Arcelor-Mittal Dofasco for over 30
years. Before and after his retirement,
he enjoyed travelling, going to
classic car shows, and attending gettogethers
with his family, extended
family, and many close friends, all of
whom he loved dearly. Jim was born
in Scotland to the late Frank and
Christina Newport (McDonald). He is
survived by his siblings Pam Milligan
(John), twin sister Kay Mittlefehldt (Al),
Margaret Newport (Keith Augustine),
Christopher (Beth), Dianne Edwards
(Rob), Tony (Janis), Frankie Nowak
(Henry), Phil (Pam), John (Mira), as
well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws
and cousins, including family members
in Scotland. Jim was most appreciative
for all the loving care and support
that he and his family received from
everyone who touched their lives
during some difficult times, both
in and out of hospital, including
the nurses, doctors, and various
support workers who gave Jim all
the special care he needed. His
presence will be missed by many,
but his memory will remain in our
hearts. In accordance with Jim’s
wishes, cremation has taken place.

Service will be held at Bay Gardens
Funeral Home – Hamilton, 947 Rymal
Road East, Hamilton on Thursday,
July 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. For those

be appreciated.
