Hedwig Grunenberg, age 83, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on July 6, 2019. Hedwig was born in Schluesselsee, Germany, August 20, 1935, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Martha Gruning, and came to Canada in 1956. She worked at Cluett Peabody and Canadian Fabricated Products, retiring in 2000. Beloved wife of the late Heinrich Grunenberg who predeceased her February 27, 2017. Loving mother of Harald (Barbara) and Monika Dean (Bryan). Grandmother of Natalie Nunn (David) and great grandmother of Iris, Harvey and Fischer Nunn. Also survived by a sister Elizabeth Howest (Heinz) and her sons Claus-Dieter (Anna), Olaf (Marlies), Frank (Anja) and great nieces and nephew. Predeceased by a daughter Iris (1958), a grandson Tyler Dean (2016), 2 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. A private family service will be held with interment at Avondale Cemetery.
