Hazel Barker (Fraser)
Peacefully at the Palace Long Term Care Home in Alexandria on July 7, 2019. Hazel Mae Barker (nee Fraser) of Alexandria, age 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Vince Barker (2010). Loving mother of Joanne Morris (Bernard) of Toronto, Donna Knight (Bill) of Glen Walter, Myrna McGregor (Neil) of Dalhousie, Janice McCormick (Cameron) of Vankleek Hill and Jed Barker (Shelley) of Mississauga. Dear daughter of the late Joe Jack and Theresa (Maloney) Fraser of St. Andrew’s West, Ont. Predeceased by sisters Margaret McMillan, Irene Cameron, Annalee Davis and John Fraser. Survived by brother Vince Fraser (Lillian) of Cornwall. Much loved nanny to 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A 60 year member of the CWL at St. Finnan’s her daily rosary and strong faith no doubt contributed to her way of seeing and being in the world, where praying and being grateful were part of her everyday. Heartfelt thank you goes out to all the staff who contributed to making her life so full, safe and peaceful during the last 7 years. She will be remembered well, God bless her, for God blessed us with her. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 6-9 pm and on Thursday from 9:30 am -10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Maison Shalom House or to the Palace Long Term Care «Family Council» would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial To Hazel a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.
