Obituary of Douglas Joseph Creighton
CREIGHTON, Douglas Joseph “JOE” – Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, July 22 , 2019, at age 73, at Hospice Niagara in St Catharines. Beloved husband of Pauline for 44 cherished years and best dad ever to Amanda and Alicia (Colin Juras). Predeceased by his father Douglas Gordon, his mother Marianne Creighton, his three sisters Carol Ricci, Diane Creighton, and Lucille Creighton and his father-in-law Peter D’Agostini. Survived by his caring sister-in-law Linda Aulthouse, mother-in-law Betty D’Agostini, brother-in-law Pat Ricci, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Joe was a devoted husband and father who showered his family with his unconditional love and affection. Joe’s love and support will endure forever as will our love for him! Joe’s adventurous spirit lead him to explore many places with his family and he loved to share stories of his travels, often offering travelling tips to anyone who would listen. Many treasured friendships were made over the years while playing trivia, golf, and hockey.
A long time antique collector and dealer, Joe shared his love of antiques, successfully establishing Creighton House Antiques in Jordan (1982). The family would like to thank the amazing staff of Hospice Niagara. Heartfelt thanks to our dear friend Dr. Tom.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24 from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St. Vineland. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, July 25 at 11a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara St Catharines.
