GARRETT, Cynthia Alice
Cynthia Alice Garrett of Westlock, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on May 11th, 2019 at the Westlock Health Center, surrounded by family and close friends.
In a nursing career spanning three continents and over forty years, Cynthia delivered thousands of babies and made enduring friendships. As a nurse, she will be remembered for her professionalism and compassion, and as a mother, grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed for her humour, her generosity and the gentle love she shared so easily.
Cynthia Alice Garrett (née Thompson), born 22 October 1929 in Madras (Chennai), India . Died 11 May 2019 in Westlock, Alberta . Predeceased by her husband, Denzil Garrett (of Westlock) and her brothers Reginald and Max. She leaves behind three children: Rachael Hirsch (of Rocky Mountain House), her husband Blair and their four sons; Bruce Garrett (of Edmonton) and Glenn Garrett (of London, UK). A memorial is planned as a celebration of Cynthia’s life, to be held on Sunday, July 28th, 2019 — details to be published. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Smithfield Lodge or the Westlock Health Center, whose staff provided outstanding care and support.
