It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Catherine on Saturday, July 20, surrounded by her adoring family. Predeceased by her parents William and Eileen (Whelan) Osborne; sister Geraldine; and brothers Hubert and Philip. Catherine will be lovingly remembered and will remain forever in the hearts of Andrew, her devoted husband and best friend of 67 years; her daughters: Catherine (Robert Walsh), Andrea (George Battcock) and Anne Marie (Karen Martin); her son Philip (Lucina Mason); cherished grandchildren: Allison Whelan (John), David Battcock (Teresa Leung) and Kiera Walsh (David White); step-grandchildren Andrew and Abby Cook; and great-grandchildren Jack and Evelyn Whelan. Survived by her sisters Eileen and Lorraine (Leonard Mackey-deceased); brothers: Bill (Alice), Tom (Sheila), Kevin (Pauline) and David (Elizabeth); and a large number of nieces, nephews, their spouses and children.
Catherine was a kind, gentle and compassionate woman, and the heart of our family. She loved life and truly believed in the ‘power of prayer.’ Her family was her greatest treasure, and her faith was her rock.
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors of 4 South B, Health Sciences, for their exceptional care and compassion. Your kindness made such a difference to our family during this difficult time.
Cremation has already taken place. Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Monday, July 22 from 1-4pm and 7-9pm. A celebration of Catherine’s life and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 23, at Holy Family Church, Paradise at 10am. There will be a reception to follow the mass in the parish hall.
