Barbara Angela Picot
1946-2019
Barbara Angela Picot – age 72, of Ogilvie, passed away on
Sunday, July 21, 2019, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Hildert and Marjorie
(Twaddle) Stokes. Barbara was raised in the Annapolis Valley and was a
graduate of Kings County Academy. She had been employed with Vital
Statistics Canada. Barbara loved to knit, read her bible, and sing
with the church. She was a people person with sharp wit and
an amazing personality. She was easily loved by everyone who
met her. She is survived by her husband, Raymond; children Donna
(Greg) Herrick, Calgary, Alta.; Cheryl Picot, Vancouver, BC; Chris
Gendron, Moncton, NB; Derek Gendron, Comox, BC; Brian Picot, Kelowna,
BC; sister, Mary (Leonard) Canfield, Halifax, NS; six grandchildren,
niece Monica Cooke; numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Besides her
parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Father David Stokes and
nephew, Daniel Canfield. Cremation has taken place and there will be
no visitation, by request. A celebration of life will take place at
3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 in the Kingsway Assembly Church,
Kentville, Reverend Terry Penney officiating. Donations in memory may
be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
