Arthur Gordon Gibson, of Mount Forest, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Monday, July 1st, 2019 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Reeves). Loving father of Ron Gibson and his wife Heather, Paul Gibson and his wife Sharon, Jack Gibson and his wife Cindy, and Heather and her husband Randy Eurig. Cherished grandfather of Amanda and Ben van Tol, Jason Gibson and Cindy Hawk, Jeremy and Sam Gibson, Jeff and Kelly Gibson, Jenna and Scott Cruickshank, Lisa and David Jarram, Ryan Gibson and Nicole Jiang, Alyssa and Scott Checkley, and Kelsey Eurig and Troy Loucks, and Amanda Gibson and Paul Brown. Proud great-grandfather of Tucker, Victoria, Isabella, Taylor, Ava, Jordan, Makayla, Taylor, Sophia, Amelia, Cruz, Vance, Grady, Chloe, William, Graham, Claire, Spencer and Nash. Dear brother of Bill and Audrey Gibson, Terry and Joanne Gibson, Gary and Nancy Gibson and brother-in-law of Muriel Gibson, Marilyn Gibson, Ruth McLellan, Doug Reeves, Rose and David Ferrier, Pat and Bill Stortz, Donna and Larry Love, Elva Reeves, Marion Reeves, Bev Reeves, Barb Reeves, Roy Rosebrugh, and Bill Wagner. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Hazel Gibson, his brothers Larry Gibson and Jim Gibson, his parents-in-law Albert and Ruby Reeves and by his in-laws Norm Reeves, Ella Rosebrugh, Josie Wagner, Rene and Gerry Schoular, Harold Reeves, Ab Reeves, Louise Reeves, Ron Reeves, Bob Reeves, and Beatrice and George Grimes. A funeral service celebrating Art’s life will be held at First Baptist Church, 116 Fergus Street North, Mount Forest on Wednesday, July 3rd at 1 p.m., with visitation being held at the church prior to the service from 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Private family interment at Mount Forest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation or First Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
