Passed away peacefully, at the age of 88, on July 17, 2019 in the comfort of her home, with her daughter Tina and granddaughter Amanda by her side. Loving mother to Philomena, Alphonse (Heather), Allan and Tina. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Gary, Amanda, Caitlyn, Jenna, Clive, Kathryn, and Michael as well as her niece/sister Franscisca of Norway. Predeceased by her parents Harm and Philomena of The Netherlands and her eight beloved brothers and sisters.
Anna loved gardening, reading and sewing. She was a long-time employee of Canadian Fab up to her retirement at the age of 60. She emigrated to Canada in the late 1950’s with her daughter Philomena and grew to love Canada as her home.
Thank you to family that were there for her in her last years, the staff of the VON, Dr. Kara and Dr. Thimm. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held. Donations in Anna’s memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at www.rmhccanada.ca or the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital at www.sickkids.ca directly, or through the Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services website at www.jarfh.com or to a charity of one’s choice.
