It is with profound sadness and the deepest sense of loss that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Spencer on June 23, 2019 at the age of 89. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle passed away peacefully at home.
Bob will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife and best friend of 66 years Carmela; children: Judy (Don Ayliffe), Rob (Sharon Oliver) and Steve (Mandy Dew); grandchildren Liz Ayliffe (Aaron Haraus), Cam Ayliffe (Karla Alsop), Shannon Cote (Francois) and Gary Dew; great granddaughter Alice Cote; sister in laws Anna Butera, Winona Butera, and Alvina Butera as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by 2 infant children Lawrence and Barbara Jean. He grew up in Lewiston, Maine. He graduated from Lewiston HS and the University of Maine, earning a degree in Civil Engineering
Bob was a professional engineer with CP Rail. He worked at CP from the day he graduated from the University of Maine to the day he retired. Bob loved to travel. He used his retirement years to travel the world taking his family with him.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 196 Kenwood Ave, Burlington, ON
