Ronald «Ron»‘s Obituary
RICHTER, Ronald Dieter – 54, of Kingston, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly in his sleep on June 23, 2019, as the result of a heart attack. Ron was a loving husband and dedicated father. He practiced law in the Annapolis Valley for 25 years and took great pride in his work and the relationships he built with colleagues and clients. Ron approached challenges with a determination and vigour that he carried through to his interests in golf, coaching and running. Ron will be deeply missed by his wife of 32 years, Janet (Potter) Richter of Kingston; and their four daughters, Anna, Natalie, Emma and Katharine, all of Halifax. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Karin Richter of Middleton; brother, Robert Richter (Susan) of Hubley; sisters, Sabine Richter of Calgary and Sue Cabral (Vincent) of Bermuda. Ron will be greatly missed by his sister-and brothers-in-law, Jennifer Potter and Craig Webster of Toronto and John Threlfall in New Zealand. He will be remembered as a fun and loving uncle by his nieces and nephews: Mischaela, Virginia, Lee, Mackenzie, Brady, Ava, Liam, Jeremy, Owen, Megan, Maya, and Ella. He was predeceased by his father, Dieter Richter, father-in-law Joseph Potter, mother-in-law, Edith Potter and sister-in-law, Sarah (Potter) Threlfall. There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., in Kingston United Church, 733 Main Street, with Rev. Brenda McKay officiating. A reception will follow at the Kingston District Fire Hall. Interment in North Kingston Cemetery, at a later date. The family would like to thank EHS First Responders, members of the Kingston District Fire Department and Kingston RCMP for their compassionate response and care.
