Caplan, Paul
Passed away peacefully with his family singing by his side at the St.
Catharines General on Friday, June 21, 2019, in his 74th year,
beloved husband of Karen, loving father of Barry (Lena), Sheli (Eddie
Stark), Stuart (Theresa) and Jennifer (Dennis Stefan). Loved Zaidie of
Seth, Noah, Joshua, Ella and Amelia. Dear brother of Beverley and
Fred (Marion). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Mary and Harry Caplan and his brother
Bruce. Dad, numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 are going to miss you. He loved
family and lived within a forty block radius his whole life. Dad was a
very quiet, outwardly unemotional (but we knew how much he loved
everyone, for sure and absolutely), sweet, baseball and basketball
loving man (especially his beloved Blue Jays who made him so proud in
1992 and 1993). To honour our Dad please hug your loved ones and take
a trip to Avondale in the Country for ice cream. Dad was protective
and fiercely proud of his family and instilled those values in his
family. He and Karen celebrated fifty wonderful years of marriage
last year and proudly celebrated one of his grandson’s
Barmitzvahs.
A funeral service will be held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39
Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Monday, June 24, 2019
at 11am. Memorial donations to the Caplan Family Anniversary Legacy
Fund, c/o Niagara Community Foundation, Suite 301 – 8 Church Street,
St. Catharines L2R 3B3 or canadahelps.org would be appreciated.
