Marion Olive Rosborough 19382019

Marion Rosborough died peacefully at
Palliative Care at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, May 31
in her 82nd year. Marion was born on February 10,
1938 and grew up in Jemseg until she finished school and moved to
Fredericton at 18 to work for NB Telephone as a telephone directory
receptionist. She later worked for Eatons Catalogue order as a
telephone receptionist then as a dispatcher for ABC Cab and Loyal Cab
Companies.
Marion is the last member
of her immediate family of parents George and Olive Mason, older
brother Donald and younger twins John and sister Jean. Also
predeceased by first husband Wendell ‘Tex’ Rosborough (father of four
sons) and second husband Ralph Scott.
Marion felt blessed to
have her four sons almost daily in her life over 63 years –
Brian (Karen), Robert, Wayne (Kelly) and Peter. She was also loved by
her grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many
friends including several of her own son’s friends, many who would
drop in alone to visit her and have tea and fresh baked
goods.
Marion really enjoyed the simple things
in life such as her family and friends, Christmas, bowling leagues in
her younger years, Friday night 45’s card games for loonies/toonies,
baking for her sons and visitors, grocery shopping, weekend shopping
trips to Maine, her Toronto Blue Jays (especially her weekend at the
Skydome for two games), the annual local MLB Playoff Baseball Pool
(she won this Pool in 2011), gardening (she won the Tamarack Park
Street Streetscape Competition Award for outside floral beautification
in 2017) and reading her morning newspaper, magazines and bible
daily.
The family wish to thank
the staff at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, especially the staff
in the Palliative Care unit. Also, very appreciated was the
compassionate care and professionalism of the local ambulance service
staff.
There will be no
visitation at the Funeral Home.
There will be a
grave-site funeral service at 2:00 pm, Friday at St. James Cemetery
next to St. James Anglican Church in Jemseg. Marion will be buried
alongside her parents and brothers.
Reverend Eugene Munn will
be leading the grave-site service.
All friends are
welcomed.
Flowers can be brought to
the gravesite if friends wish.
Any donations may be made
in memory of Marion to The Fredericton Terry Fox
Run for cancer research or to The Fredericton
Shelter.
