Linda Louise Kerr
1949-2019
Linda died peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care on May
26, 2019, aged 69.
She was the only child of the late James O. and Alaire Kerr
of 971 Kings Rd., Sydney River.
Linda was born with cerebral palsy and attended Colby School
for many years. Linda enjoyed children, TV programs, music, animals,
babies, and car rides. During this time Linda traveled with her
parents across the country and also enjoyed trips within the Maritimes
with her young cousins for company. One of her favorite places was the
cottage at Northside East Bay, where she enjoyed swimming, boating,
and her swings.
Linda was blessed with parents who loved and assisted her for
over six decades. After Linda’s mother died, her father
continued caring for her on his own until his stroke. A host of very
loving caregivers allowed Jim and Linda to remain at home during
Jim’s lifetime.
She is survived by her cousin and guardian, Nancy Lohnes; her
uncle, Sedley Barss, Chester, NS.; and her many
cousins.
Sincere thanks to Dr. Archibald for decades of care and to
the amazing staff at Fishermen’s Cove at
Harbourstone.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of life service
will be held on Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m. in the Shaw room of Bethel
Presbyterian Hall, Brookland St., Sydney, with Rev. Bob Lyle
officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may
be made to the Bethel Presbyterian Church, the Horizon Achievement
Centre or charity of your choice.
