Kenneth’s Obituary
JAQUES, Kenneth Alexander ~ age 88 of Moshers Corner, Annapolis Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he was a son of the late Donald and Evelyn (Chater) Jaques. Dad grew up living in Pine Falls and Winnipeg. In 1950 he joined the RCAF and became a pilot. He was posted to RCAF Station Greenwood where he met and married Anne Marie Cox in 1954. They were posted to many places over the years and Ken piloted a variety of aircraft including the 101 Voodoo jet. After his retirement from the Air Force, he started a new career as a commercial pilot with Air Canada, where he became a Captain and retired in 1992 after 25 years. Retirement brought them back to the Annapolis Valley where they spent many happy years. Kenneth is survived by his wife Anne Marie; daughters, Cynthia Lynn (Sverre) Hanssen, Moshers Corner, Diana Lee (Joseph) Valorie, Destin, Florida and Linda Marie (Avi) Dishy, Brampton Ontario; sister, Yvonne Harris, Battle Creek Michigan; grandchildren, Jackie Warren, Nicholas Valorie, Alexander Hanssen, Tom Erik Hanssen, Heidi Ohno, Adam Dishy, Daniel Dishy, and Jon Dishy; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jacob and Charlie. Kenneth was predeceased by his brothers, John and Patrick. By request cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetary, Middleton at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the VON Annapolis Valley Branch or to Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
