It is with great sadness, the family of Helen Poole announce her peaceful passing at the Grove Nursing Home on June 28, 2019 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her loving husband George and cherished son John. Dearly loved and devoted mother of Mary (Stewart Bennett), Norma (Hal Grainger) and dear mother-in-law to Miriam. Forever in the hearts of her grandchildren, John (Eric), Mark (Sheila), Patrick (Deborah), Sarah (Darren), Susie (Jason), Michael (Jessica), Lauren (Graham) and Hilary (Josh) and her 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ada Rowe, her sister Norma Elliot, and is survived by her brother Eldon Rowe. Helen will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Helen was a long-time resident of Fitzroy Harbour and a devoted member of St. George’s Anglican Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Susan Kurian and the Grove Nursing Home for their excellent and compassionate care. Visitation will be held at the Carp Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 115 Rivington Street, Carp on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 3794 Woodkilton Rd, Woodlawn on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11 a.m., immediately followed by burial in the parish cemetery. Reception will be held afterwards at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Center, 100 Clifford Campbell St, Fitzroy Harbour. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Helen are asked to consider contributing to The Grove Redevelopment Campaign.
