Obituary of Harry Brouwer
BROUWER: Harry –
God called Harry home on Friday, June 7, 2019 with his family at his side at the age of 86.
Born in Gasselternijveenschemond, The Netherlands, Harry was the son of the late Bert and Henny (Leffers) Brouwer.
Beloved husband and soulmate of 61 years to Helen (nee DeJong).
Loving father of Janette Westervelt (Bernie) of Kitchener, Bernie Brouwer (Linda) of Chatham-Kent, Robert Brouwer (Betty) of Hamilton and Carol Schenk (Allen) of Barrie.
Proud Grandpa of Melissa, Alana, Kaylee, Braydon; Amanda, Danielle, Nicole; Thomas (fiancee Nicole), Kathryn; Zachary and Noah.
Dear brother to Ann Dieleman (Jim), the late Jim Brouwer (Teny), the late Jannie Brouwer, Joanne DeVries (late Harry), Henry Brouwer (Jane), John Brouwer (Kathy) and Rhea Van Breda (late Jake).
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. After immigrating to Chatham-Kent from the Netherlands, Harry farmed most of his life with his family.
Family will receive friends at the Grace Christian Reformed Church, 255 Tweedsmuir Ave W., Chatham on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
A Private family interment will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery prior to the Memorial Service at Grace Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday at 11:00am with Pastor William Koopmans officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Harry to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or Chatham Christian School would be appreciated.
