Obituary of Eve Nixon
Eve H. Nixon was born in a British Military Hospital in Germany. Eve was the second daughter of five, to her parents Victor and Luise. Her old sister (deceased) is Gertrude but went by the name of Trudy, younger sisters are Margaret (deceased), Barbara and Valerie. Eve was raised primarily in England. In adulthood she experienced employment as a florist before training as a nurse. Eve married her husband, Keith, when she was 24 years old and they were married close to 45 years at the time of her passing. The couple had three children while in England, the oldest a daughter named Susie, a son James, and the youngest son Michael. The family moved to Canada in the early 1980s. Eve devoted her life to rearing her family and the home arts. Eve was an accomplished seamstress. She loved music and to sing. She enjoyed painting. Eve loved to cook and learn and try new recipes for her family. She was recognized among her peers in school by receiving awards for her exemplary skills in the home arts. Eve was dedicated to her Christian church faith and served other members of her congregation. She had a sharp business acumen and a competitive nature. People who knew her respected that she was a formidable opponent in Monopoly. Eve had a good sense of humour and shared pranks with those closest to her. Eve travelled to Germany and England; she also enjoyed a two-week Alaskan cruise with her husband, Keith. Eve struggled with significant health challenges in the latter portion of her life particularly. Eve was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, loved one and friend to many. She was enormously loved, will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, 15 Westpark Drive in Moose Jaw. Stanley Williams will officiate. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In loving memory of Eve, a memorial tree planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
