Bernard Joseph Finn
May 21, 1947 – May 31, 2019
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Bernard Joseph Finn of Goulds at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, May 31, 2019, age 72 after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melita (nee Hynes) and three daughters: Melita Power (Gerald), Joy Hurley (Jason) and Joanie Chafe (Glenn); grandchildren: Nathan, Abigail, Madison, Owen and Colton. He also leaves to mourn his brother David (Sandra); six sisters: Genny Murphy (Basil – deceased), Rose Janes (Ed – deceased), Veronica Dooling (Leonard – deceased), Bernadine Dyke, Patricia Madore (Claude) and Harriet Stanley (Huck – deceased); sisters-in-law: Isabelle, Carol and Tootsie; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Louise; infant son Bernard; brothers: Jack, Tom, Bill (Sally) and Eddy; as well as members of the Hynes family, mother-in-law Melita and brother-in-law Steve.
Special thanks to his doctors and staff of 4 South B at the Health Sciences Centre for their exemplary care during his short stay.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, on Sunday, June 2nd from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. and Monday, June 3rd from 12 noon-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass to take place on Tuesday, June 4,2019 at a time from St. Kevin’s Church, Goulds with cremation to follow and inurnment at a later date. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
