On Thursday, May 9, 2019, Steve Weleschuk of Edmonton, formerly of Wostok, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Alice, of 67 years; four children, Bernadette (John) Wagner, Mark (Irene), Denise (Ray) Lucyshyn, Patricia (Daryl) Chichak; eight grandchildren, Justin, Rachel, Joseph, David, Krystina, Michael, Alicia and Nathaniel; along with sisters-in-law, Molly and Annie as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Steve was predeceased by his parents Theodore and Rosalia (nee Kaschyshyn) and 14 siblings.
Prayer Service will take place at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 9003 153 Avenue, Edmonton on Wednesday, May 15 at 7:00 pm. Divine Liturgy will take place at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Parish on Thursday, May 16 at 10:00 am. Panachyda and interment to follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Michael, Alberta. Rev. Janko Herbut and Basilian Fathers Officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Michael or to the Basilian Fathers House of Studies. The family extends their thanks to Dr. Chang and the staff at the Mel Miller Hospice for their compassionate care. Your care and support for Dad will always be remembered.
