Stephen Longmire «Steve» Troop
– 78, of Lake George, Kings
County, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born in Granville Ferry, Annapolis County, he was
a son of the late Stephen and Helena (Longmire) Troop.
Stephen graduated as a Registered Nurse
from the Nova Scotia Hospital, Dartmouth, worked as a Supervisor of
Nursing at the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, Waterville and
owned and managed two nursing homes. Stephen was most passionate about
hunting, antiques and the Montreal Canadiens. He is survived by sons,
Kim, Troy (Tracey), Todd and Kyle (Sarah); two sisters, Margaret
Rogers and Janet Wadden; a sister-in-law, Gloria Troop; grandchildren,
Regan, Jordan, Dylan, Miles, Oliver, Brandon, Ally, Colby, Ivy and
Jasper; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife,
Sharon Lynn (Van Buskirk) Troop; a brother, James. Cremation has taken
place. There will be no visitation, by request. A service of
remembrance for family and friends will be held at 1:30 p.m. on
Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the family home, 4342 Aylesford Road, Lake
George. The Rev’d Mel Malton will officiate. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, Atlantic Zone.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
