On May 17, 2019 at the age of 97 Stan passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Stan was predeceased by his wife Margaret (2001), daughter Sheila (2001), son John (1991), granddaughter Allison (1980), and sister Edith (1928). Stan leaves a son Jim (Jan), daughter- in- law Donna, grand children Scott (Freda), Kate (Kyle), Ryan, Lisa (Trevor), Jason (Christi) and great grandchildren Georgina, Noah, Liam, Isla, Oakley and Kingston.
Stan grew up in the north end of Winnipeg in what he called the great days of the 1920’s and 30’s, attending Machray School, St John’s Tech and the University of Manitoba. After University he enlisted in the army serving 5 years during the 2nd World War, as a Lieutenant in north-west Europe with the South Alberta Regiment, 29th Armoured Reconnaissance.
After the war he started his own food brokerage company and for a period of 21 years built a very successful business. After which spending 17 years as Superintendent of J.M. Schneider Ltd. in Winnipeg, retiring in 1986.
An avid gardener who followed this passion in retirement, Stan created spectacular garden landscapes at his vacation property in Matlock, Manitoba.

A private interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery in Winnipeg.
