It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard on Sunday May 5th at Innisfree House in Kitchener, Ontario after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Montreal, Quebec to parents Dora (Brown) and Victor. Cherished husband to Sheila (Kinsey), father to Scott and great grandfather to Sophia, and brother of Beverly (Jochen) Strohmeyer of Harrow Ontario. Rick (to his friends and family) was a salesman, small business owner and City of Cambridge Councillor for many years. His passion in life was municipal politics; he said that «being embraced by my community of Hespeler for many years has been my dance of a lifetime.» At Rick’s request there will be no funeral service, rather a celebration of life that is to be arranged at a later date in the summer. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to Grand River Hospital and Innisfree House of Kitchener would be greatly appreciated.
