It is with deeply saddened hearts the family of Ray Ettinger announces that Ray passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 16, 2019.
Ray will be missed by his children Kevin (Stephen), Kim Walko (Dave). Shelley Gibson (Dan). After retiring from Local 663 Ray’s full time occupation was spending his time being “Boppa” to his nine grandchildren Jake, Jamie, Christopher (Heather), Autum (Josh), Blake, Jaime (Kyle), Casey (Adam), Tory (Nicole), Nicholas, and great grandchildren Doug, Darien, Carson, Brooklyn, Madelyn, Elizabeth, Ezekiel, Presley & Nolan, Aurora & Keiran.
Ray is reunited with his wife Wanda, Parents Eric & Edna, Brothers Eric & Robert and sister Evelyn. Ray is survived by sisters Elaine Wilkie, Marion (Brian) Covell and brother Timothy (Sherry). Many family members and nieces and nephews will miss Ray. He touched the hearts of many and enjoyed spending his time between the east coast and Ontario to be with those he loved. Always ready for family fun Ray loved camping, dancing, cards, bluegrass, Blue Jays, barbq’s and any opportunity to spend time with his beloved grandchildren .His smiles, winks and wit will be remembered forever. Rays kindness and love had no limits and his family was blessed to have shared so many wonderful years with him. Heaven knocked it out of the park when they called Ray up to the big leagues!
At Ray’s request a celebration of Life will be held in Nova Scotia with family and friends at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca).
