Obituary for
Natalia Nikolic
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Natalia (Nettie) Nikolic. She was our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend and we will all miss her dearly.
Nettie was born on September 8, 1930 to Alexander and Claudia in Odessa, Ukraine. She worked as a nurse in Russia, moving her career to Canada where she met her husband, Zivota (Nick) Nikolic. They married in Niagara Falls and moved to Lethbridge, AB where they started their family. They welcomed five boys, Ken, Denny, Victor, Tom and Mark who kept them on their toes.
Nettie’s boys blessed her with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She doted on “all her babies” and could always be counted on to support from the sidelines at everyone’s activities and for a warm hug and plenty of kisses.
Her kitchen was always filled with home-cooked Ukrainian dishes and she ensured that anyone who walked through her door left with a full stomach. She also enjoyed playing cards with Nick and cheering for her favorite wrestlers on TV.
We are all grateful to have had Nettie in our lives for as long as we did but her loss will leave a hole in all of our hearts.
Funeral Service Wednesday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue. Interment to follow in Moose Jaw, SK on Friday May 17th at 1:30 pm at the Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Natalia
