GREEN, Maxwell Douglas “Max” MWO Ret’d~ age 63 of Melvern Square, NS passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of James Emerson Green, Lower Sackville and the late Theresa Ellen (Smith) Green. Max retired after 32 years of service with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Engineer, serving with Search and Rescue and having completed two tours in the Middle East. He was an avid reader and writer always having 2 or 3 books on the go. He loved music, and was especially proud of his mandolins and always could be heard strumming a tune. Max was a great photographer, and an avid soccer “grandparent” having a huge heart and an amazing family man who was very passionate about his family and cherished his grandchildren. He was a computer genius, history buff and in his younger years enjoyed sports and was very athletic. He is survived by his father, James Green, Lower Sackville; his loving wife of 41 years, Susan (nee Rushton), Melvern Square; daughters, Debra-Leigh Green (Shane Welton), South Greenwood; Michelle Green (Matt Durling), Windsor; sisters, Angela (Darren) Cobb, Lower Sackville; Jennifer Green, Queensland Beach; Peggy Green, Shad Bay; Patti Green, Lower Sackville; brother, Anthony Green (Karen Holmes), Victoria, BC; grandchildren Bailey, Lily, Morgan, Kerrigan, Jac-Lynn, Darius ,Dawson and will be missed by his loyal canine companion, Tucker. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by sons Christopher, Joshua and Paul; brothers, James Emerson Green and Christopher Green. In keeping with Max’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service or visitation. Donations in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada or the local SPCA.
