Marion Wythe
February 12, 1926 – May 25, 2019
Marion Annie Wythe (Parker) passed away peacefully on May 25, 2019 at the
Grande Prairie Care Center surrounded by family.
Born on February 12, 1926, Marion grew up on a farm outside Lacombe, Alberta.
She attended Normal School and received a teaching certificate. She taught in a
one room schoolhouse near Rimbey.
Marion married Frank Wythe on March 5, 1955 and they shared a life in Calgary,
Edmonton, and Vulcan before settling in Grande Cache where they spent many
happy years. Marion spent the last years of her life under the care of the
compassionate staff at the Grande Prairie Care Center.
She dedicated her life to her family and the community. Always a very social
person, Marion loved to visit with family and friends. She was devoted to the
United Church and loved to sing. She volunteered with numerous community
organizations and was always available to contribute in whatever capacity was
required.
Marion is survived by her children Jim Wythe (Margo), Doug Wythe (Karen),
Debbie Wythe, Susan Winsor (Dean) and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Frank, sister Dorothy Anderson and
brother-in-law Andy Anderson.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Marion may be made to the Grande Prairie Care Centre, 9705 94 Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 3A2.
