Obituary for
M. Joseph G. McGrath
May 26 1935 – May 1 2019
On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 83 years of age, Joe McGrath, surrounded by his loving family, peacefully returned to our Lord. Beloved husband of Gilberte (Betty) McGrath (nee Campeau); loving father of Marc (Francine) McGrath, Peter (Tina) McGrath and Shannon (Robert) McGruer; grandfather of Curtis (Stephanie) McGrath, Jody (Michael) Ford, Connor (Allison) McGrath, Matthew McGruer, Michelle (Cory) Bresee, Scott McGruer and Daniel McGruer; great-grandfather of Huxley Ford. Survived by 1 sister, 3 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law, as well as numerous loving nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents, his brother and 6 sisters, 4 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. Thank you to the Queensway Carleton Hospital staff for the attention and support they provided. Special thanks to the hospital Catholic chaplain, Father Kipling Cooper, for his on-going spiritual support.
Friends are invited to visit at the McGruer Family Home, 44 Sirocco Crescent, Stittsville ON K2S 2C8 on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-9p.m. and on Saturday, May 4 from 11a.m. – noon. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Philip Parish, 127 Burke Street, Richmond ON.
Interment in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, masses offered for Joe or donations to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation, would be greatly appreciated.
