JOLLEY, Joseph (Joe) – We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Joseph Jolley, age 76, of Guelph, Ontario who died peacefully on Monday afternoon, May 6, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 6th, 1942 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Joe was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing in his spare time. His other hobbies included watching movies, reading books and watching hockey.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Jolley (Kelly), along with his two children Joseph Jolley and Pauline Conte (Jim). Beloved Grampy of Melanie Conte (Therin) and Nico Conte. Joe will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters, Bill (Donna Marie), Sandra Tessaro (Paul), Lou, Valerie McCarthy, Brenda Crowley (John) and Kim Collins (Ron). Dear brother-in-law to Mike Kelly (Joan), Catherine Dandy (Jim), Betty Giles (Phil) and Verla Kelly.
Predeceased by his parents William «Bill» Jolley and Margaret «Peggy» (Smith) Jolley. Joe’s in-laws James and Doris Kelly. As well, Joe’s brothers in-law John and Joe Kelly, sister-in-law Bridget Kelly and nieces Crissy and Laurie.
Joe will be sadly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Cary Shafir and the Bay Shore Nursing staff; Bonita, Cathy and Laura for all their wonderful compassion, care and support in Joe’s last days.
Friends are invited to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. The funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11a.m. The celebration of Joe’s life will continue afterwards and will be announced later. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Elliott Community or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
