Jane Rutherford (Bleakley)
RUTHERFORD- Jane (Bleakley), R.N. – Peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 69th year. Survived by her husband and best friend Robert of 47 years. Loving mother of Sara (Tom) Yurcich and Anne (Nick) Pietrangelo. Adored “Grandma Jane” of Matthew, Justin and Amelia. Dear sister of Dave (Nancy) Bleakley and Lisa (David) Peterson. Dear sister-in-law of Marla (Chuck) Merritt. A wonderful aunt to Amy, John, Katie, Quinn, Avery and their families. We would like to thank the compassionate staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital (ICU and PCU) for caring for Jane in her final weeks. Jane was an avid golfer and curler and enjoyed watching her family participate in many sporting events. She always had such an infectious laugh and would make everyone around her smile. While working on the Pediatric Ward at GNGH, she was known for her comical “Janeisms”.
Jane’s family would like to invite friends to the Morse & Son Event Centre, 5929 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Sunday May 5th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. to celebrate Jane’s life. If desired, donations to The Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
