JANE VAN HAEREN
July 8, 1932 – May 20, 2019
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Van Haeren (in her 87th year), our loving and devoted mother, who left us with her family by her side.
Mom is predeceased by our father, her devoted, beloved and caring husband, John (1992). Treasured mother of Ralph (Agnes) and Mimi. Cherished grandmother of Kristen and Brandon.
Predeceased by her brothers Jos, Alfons, Frans and Emile. Survived by her three siblings, Marcel, Robert and Gabrielle, and their families as well as many nieces and nephews, all in Belgium.
Mom’s unwavering optimism, faith, determination and inner strength was ever present right to the very end.
Mom worked many years for the Victorian Order of Nurses, caring for the sick and the elderly. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and the Guelph Seniors Walking Club. Mom enjoyed the outdoors, and had a passion for family, gardening and cooking. Known throughout her community neighbourhood as ‘Grandma Jane’, she delighted in greeting kids and all dogs that she met on her daily walks. Mom was a loving friend to many and will be remembered by her close circle of Sunday coffee friends. Her passing has created an immense void in the lives of anyone who knew her.
Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Parish, 175 Emma St., on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with interment at Marymount cemetery.
Our family feels blessed for the extraordinary care and compassion given to Mom during her final weeks by the entire staff of angels at Hospice Wellington, in Guelph. Thanks to all of you.
