Irene is survived by her children: Adele Garner, Diane Leigh, Ralph (Debbie) Mailhot, Michele (Brian) Dolezal; her stepchildren: Peter (Colleen) Groenland, Gloria Smith; her devoted sister, Marielle Atwell; dear brother, Dan L’Heureux as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Don Mailhot and her son, Gilles Mailhot and also by her second husband, Ted Groenland and stepson, Theo Groenland.
Our mom always made friends wherever she was. Her generosity and kindness were given with affection attested to by those receiving her homemade rum cakes and crocheted afghans. She enjoyed her last years at Shepherd’s Care with the many friends she made, from the staff, homecare girls and residents.
